During the lockdown, More Music has been using Zoom to conduct sessions with our existing groups so we can stay connected with each other and make music together.
Unique Beatz is a music project we have been delivering over the last year with young people from Unique Kidz & Co in Morecambe, who provide after-school and holiday club provision for young people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
Since we had to stop the project in person, music leaders Rachel Parsons and Ash Murphy have been delivering these sessions online . This short video shows the group together on Zoom singing their welcome song, enjoying their session together. Music finds a way!

More Music usually holds That Spring Thing in April celebrating the changing of the season with a festival of environmentally focused workshops and performances. As this wasn’t possible this year, with support from Creative West End, we decided to reach out to performers and creators with a connection to the West End of Morecambe and challenge them to make new work on the theme ‘The Power of Small Things’.
This film brings all of these new creations and performances together – one part live music festival, one part music video, one part story telling – all introduced by That Spring Thing regular Gacko. Some performers made their films at home, adding sound engineer and camera-person to their job list. Four artists joined us for some socially distant filming in the West End Gardens of Splendour, just behind More Music’s building, where That Spring Thing usually takes place. It was a heart-warming day with performers sharing their new works with a very lucky filming team.

Pat is a regular participant at the weekly Seagull Cafe session at More Music which sadly have been stopped for the moment.
Pete Moser went to visit her in her yard (she is the grandmother of his son) and sang songs with her whilst observing social distancing. She broke out into a wonderful a chair dance and he couldn’t resist filming her. What a moment of joy!
