Accessibility

More Music aims to be inclusive and accessible to all. We are proud to be included on the attitude is everything accessible venue charter and are keen to take all reasonable steps to meet the requirements of our deaf and disabled visitors.

We advertise an event start time for each gig, which is approximately 30 minutes after doors open.

Arriving at More Music

The main entrance is on Parliament Street.

Upon arrival at the venue please speak to a member of the team if you require assistance or have any questions. The reception/ box office is immediately on the left of the power assisted front door.

The secondary entrance door is not power assisted, but staff will be on hand to welcome all visitors and assist as required.

We understand that you may wish to speak to a member of staff in confidence/ out of ear of other staff and customers about your needs or requirements. If you request this from a member of the team we will find a quiet place where you can discuss any needs or concerns.

The building

More Music is fully wheelchair accessible.

The entrance is accessed via low gradient slope from the pavement.

There is level access throughout both floors with access to the first floor possible via stairs or lift.

There are twenty steps in total with a landing halfway up. There is a handrail on both side of the stairs

The reception/ Box Office window has a lowered counter and is accessed to the left as you enter the front entrance. The bar in the main hall also has a lowered counter.

Drinking straws and various drinking glass sizes and designs are available on request. Our bar staff are happy to assist and carry your drinks to your table if required.

More Music can get very busy at sessions and events. Quieter areas outside of the main activity are available, just ask a member of the team.

Foam ear plugs are available for all visitors on request

         

Toilets

There are two accessible toilets at More Music. On the ground floor the accessible toilet has been finished to Changing Places standard and includes a hoist, bed and shower. The first-floor ambulant accessible toilet has grab rails. Both accessible toilets have electronic alarms.

There are separate male and female toilets on the first floor. There are three individual gender-neutral toilets on the ground floor which each have a sink.

 

Essential Companion tickets

Companions providing personal assistance gain free access to More Music events and sessions. An essential companion ticket can be booked online when purchasing tickets for the event.

Parking

More Music does not have a dedicated car park. There are time limited parking bays and on street parking around the building.

There is a small car park with 3 hours free parking, no limit after 6pm.

There are two disabled spaces in this car park. It is approximately 30m, on level ground,  from the front door of More Music

There are also two disabled parking bays on Parliament Street.

Public Transport

The nearest bus stops are on Regent Road and Westminster Road approximately 50m away.

Morecambe train station is approximately 20 minutes walk, a 5 minute drive or 13 minutes on the bus.

Seating

The layout varies depending on the event. If you require more information about the seating for a particular event please call more music on 01524 831997 (weekdays 9-5 )or email info@moremusic.org.uk

There is no fixed seating at More Music.

We do not allocate a specific area for wheelchair users; we give the option of where you’d like to enjoy the event from. However, we will be happy to help you find a viewing position if you require assistance. On some occasions it will be possible to reserve a table prior to the event.

Some seats have armrests and will be available.

Visitors with Medical requirements

We welcome visitors who may need to bring medicines, food or drink to manage a medical condition or medical equipment. Please contact us on 01524 831997 or info@moremusic.org.uk if you have any concerns  or special requirements relating to the above and we will assist however possible.

Lighting

LED lighting is in use throughout the building and stage lighting at events.

More Music does not use strobe lighting at events.

If an event will feature strobe lighting this will be advertised on the event page on More Music’s website.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at More Music.

Guide Dog and Assistance Dog owners have important rights under the equality act 2010 (EA) Details can be found at www.assitancedogs.org.uk

 

In an emergency, please approach any member of staff in a red More Music t-shirt.
