Girls Can X Loose Articles at Lancaster Music Festival

Our team had the most amazing day on the Sunday of Lancaster Music Festival with Loose Articles who played to a packed-out venue headlining More Music’s Girls Can stage.
The Story was at capacity for the final night of the festival, as Loose Articles closed their set with mosh pit in true punk spirit.
Support came from three new bands, who formed as part of More Music’s Girls Can project:
Dead Sheep, Inc.Yellow and Pedros Paella, all played original songs to a full house and absolutely killed it!
It’s been amazing to see how the bands have developed since February when Loose Articles came to More Music on their “Kick Like A Girl” tour designed to encourage more girls into the music industry.
Early in the day the bands also had the opportunity to chat to Loose Articles and their manager about the realities of life in a working band and explore how we can support more young women and non-binary people to take up space in the industry.
Key action points from the panel discussion included:
Actively booking more female / non binary artists
Advocating for change in the industry
Holding people accountable
Being mindful of tokenism & language
Making changes at grass roots level
Girls Can supports an ever-growing group of girls and non-binary people to form bands, develop as artists, write new material and build skills in sound, lighting and studio engineering as well as develop confidence and music industry knowledge.
