Rachel Parsons

Rachel is a drummer, violinist, pianist and guitarist. She runs the More Music Youth Programme which encompasses Stages, Friday Night Project, Bay Youth Voices, Youth Leadership Team and Arts Awards.  She also works directly as a music leader on many of these projects and is a qualified Youth and Community Worker.

As a drummer, she was part of the Lancaster punk rock band Angelica for nine years, playing major festivals and recording live sessions for national radio. After Angelica split up, she played with Riot Grrl legends Babes in Toyland and spent five years in art rock band Adventures of Loki.

“My signature workshop is rock school, I focus on getting people who haven’t played before to play in a group setting.”

“My major musical influences are 1990s alternative rock.  I enjoy baroque to country to rock to pop with hip hop along the way.”

Rachel can deliver workshops in songwriting, bandmaking, group singing and samba drumming workshops. She is an Gold Arts Award Adviser and has extensive experience delivering Arts Award in many settings.
