West End Lantern Procession 2024
***RESCHEDULED TO FRIDAY 13 DECEMBER DUE TO BAD WEATHER!!***
It’s a great annual tradition and a wonderful sight to see all the lanterns at the West End Winter Lantern Procession.
Everyone’s invited to join in the procession along with musicians and the community carrying their lanterns. It’s a lovely way to get into the festive spirit; an uplifting community celebration for the West End of Morecambe.
The procession will wind its way round the streets of the West End led by our Baybeat Streetband, starting and ending at More Music. Please wrap up warm and wear waterproof clothing in case of bad weather!
There will festive singing too, here are the lyrics to join in!
GLITTERING GROVE
Glittering Grove is an enchanting walk through the woods, which you can experience from 4pm in Alexandra Park (near More Music on Alexandra Road). Thousands of specks of light dance across trees and the paths creating an enveloping world of glittering loveliness. Created by Dan Fox of Sound Intervention
DESIGN A BIRD
We’re gathering as many Curlew designs as possible to make a colourful, patterned flock to project onto More Music’s building. You can download the curlew template below and add your own designs!
Download the template of our curlew here
Take a photo of your design and send it to us at info@moremusic.org.uk to see it projected on to our building at the Lantern procession, joining a vibrant flock of virtual birds!
We’d also love to see your designs on paper displayed in your window for everyone to enjoy on the procession.
