IVW: Good Boy Nikko x Kodak Kid Livestream

Access the stream HERE

As part of Independent Venue Week 2021 we are thrilled to be hosting a livestream with a double headliner of Good Boy Nikko and Kodak Kid.

Good Boy Nikko

Good Boy Nikko are a dream-pop duo from Lancaster, UK. At the end of 2018 the two locked themselves away to create their debut EP “HELLO”. This record fused their love of Japanese city pop, electronic music from the 70’s, and vintage cartoon quirkiness to create a unique blend of dreamy synth-pop.

The EP gained attention from BBC Lancashire who played it’s title track “When we’re Sober” three weeks straight on their BBC introducing show. The EP also landed the duo a deal with Emon Records (sub-label of Palm 84) who subsequently re-released “HELLO!” on limited edition CD and cassette pressing.

The band spent 2019 performing HELLO! to crowds all over the country. They played at Solfest 2019 (sharing the bill with The Coral and Utah Saints), supported UKF artist Javeon during his UK tour and also opened up for Field Music’s spin-off project – You Tell Me. Good Boy Nikko are currently working on their second EP “HELLO, AGAIN!” and will be released on limited edition Vinyl, Cassette, and CD (as well as being available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music etc.) mid-Summer 2021.

Kodak Kid

Raised between Lancaster and London, Kodak Kid is the brainchild of Luke Benjamin plus other affiliates. Fusing dreamy Indie Jazz with influences of Dub and Post Punk, his music is the escapist soundtrack for alienated souls.

In August 2019 Kodak Kid released the debut “FREE EP”, written and recorded in just 3 weeks and released on the Discreet Cartels label. The EP, a heady mix of dream pop, post punk, jazz and dub, touched on the themes of self help quotes, mental health and learning to say goodbye. The EP was promoted with a music video for the song Picture of You directed by Luke.

In January 2021 he returned with the Lo-fi dream pop single “Wake” which is now available on all streaming platforms (Apple Music, Spotify etc). It was released with a bonkers music video shot in Tokyo. Kodak Kid is currently working on his next as untitled EP which is scheduled to be released late spring of 2021.
