Commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day
Lancaster & Lakes Jewish Community, Faith in Lancaster, Lancaster University, More Music, Lancaster City Council and Lancaster Priory Church are working together to remember the Holocaust.
Nationally, Holocaust Memorial Day is Monday 27 January 2020, in Lancaster there’s a week of events planned which include:
Tu B’Shevat – Traditional Tree Planting and bagel Brunch
Lancaster University Memorial Woodland
Sunday 19 January at 10.15am
At Lancaster University Memorial Woodland there will be traditional tree planting ceremony, followed by Bagel Brunch at the Jewish Rooms.
Commemorating the Holocaust
Lancaster Garden of Remembrance and Lancaster Town Hall
Thursday 23 January at 6.30pm
Commemorating the Holocaust: candle lighting and Prayers in The Garden of Remembrance in Lancaster, followed by performances and reflections in Lancaster Town Hall.
Lancaster Priory Church
Sunday 26 January at 6.30pm
Interfaith service with music, prayers and reflections from different traditions.
