Girls Can – Spring 2025

Take part in a weekend of musicmaking on 8 and 9 March 2025, with special guests Manchester punk band Loose Articles!

Girls Can provides a supportive environment for young women and non-binary people to form bands, develop as artists, network, build skills in sound, lighting and studio engineering as well as develop confidence and music industry knowledge.

Loose Articles will be joining us on Saturday for our workshops, before their ‘Kick Like A Girl Extra Time!’ gig that evening, with Girls Can bands in support.

For young women aged between 14 – 25 from backgrounds and groups who are not typically represented in the music industry. Open to all people who identify as women and non-binary people

SCHEDULE

SATURDAY 8 MARCH  – 2pm-5.30pm

2pm – 4pm SOUNDCHECKS!
Ahead of their gig at More Music that evening, come along and join Loose Articles to shadow both the band and their crew at a soundcheck. This is a great opportunity to meet the band, explore behind the scenes at the gig, see what actually happens.

4.30pm – 5.30pm – MUSIC INDUSTRY Q&A with Loose Articles

Q&A with the band, crew and management team. This is your chance to ask as many questions as you like!

Girls Can participants will get a free ticket to the Loose Articles gig at More Music that evening.

7pm – 9.30pm – GIG

LOOSE ARTICLES with support from Girls Can bands

SUNDAY 9 MARCH – 11am-3pm

11am – 3pm Music Production Workshop – Remix a Loose Articles song!

Develop your music production skills in safe and supported environment

Have fun using cutting edge music technology platforms to REMIX tracks by Loose Articles with producer and DJ Charlie Brown. The band will also be zooming during the day to offer feedback and support!! At the end of the day you will come away with your own REMIX of a Loose Articles track!!!
